HOW TO GET STARTED - The Process
Creating a web site takes planning and time. We have tried to streamline this process as much as possible. Building a site is intricate and takes effort on both sides to create. We have broken it down into sections in our explanations below. We recommend you read over the instructions first before beginning to get the overall understanding of what needs to be done. Then, gather the necessary materials required and follow the step-by-step instructions. To Begin:
Your artwork must be reviewed by us.
If you have not already done so, please submit 3 artwork images (.jpg only) via email to us or on a CD by mail. (mail to Acrey Art & SacramentoArt.com - PO BOX 2728 ELk Grove, CA 95759-2728) to be reviewed and approved for advertising prior to filling out this order form and submitting payment. Please DO NOT send us your artwork. Digital Images ONLY. All submissions are subject to approval. (Please check our users agreement for content requirements/restrictions).
Then
We will notify you by email if your artwork is accepted. If you are accepted, you may submit an order form with payment online and advertise on this site.
To Proceed
1. Decide the Plan you want. The Picasso Plan with up to 12 images or the Monet Plan with up to 24 images. See the details of Portfolio Plans offered and the # of month packages for the plan of your choice. (Each plan has four (4) packages - 3 months; 6 months; 12 months or 24 months - the more months you purchase ...the more you save)
2. Compose your artist bio or statement and save it- We suggest you create it in a word program, spell check it, then when you fill out the online form you can just the copy & paste it into the form. Max is up to 2000 characters including spaces and punctuation. (approx 500-600 words).
3. Compose a short Headline, tag line or bulleted list for your home page - you can list the type of art work or mediums you work in. (max 100 characters/spaces) to copy & paste it into the online form.
4. Think about a name for your web site.
The prefix is always the same: http://www.sacramentoart.com/p/________. but you can choose a name for your site.

Our default name is your first initial and your last name.
example: for Jane Doe = http://www.sacramentoart.com/p/jdoe
or you may choose something else- example: for Jane's Art = http://www.sacramentoart.com/p/janesart
No special characters allowed. An underscore or a dash is OK.
Now that your written materials are ready
Go to the order form of your Portfolio Plan Choice
- the Picasso (12 images) OR - the Monet (24 images)
Fill out the online form. Besides the written items you prepared, you will be choosing your color scheme (BASE, BLOCK & BACKGROUND). (VIEW details below)
Submit the info, choose your # of months package, add the item to the cart & go to checkout. After check out .. We will review your order. Wait for our second email. The first one is a confirmation of your order when you place the order online and the second email is outlines below. (you may submit your order online anytime as we are open 24/7 online, however, we will review your order during our regular business hours - Mon-Fri.)
Meanwhile
Sort your art images in the order you want them to appear on your web site page(s). Get your image files ready (format/size) & name them according to the instructions (see below). Save them in a file folder on your computer and burn them to a CD. There are NO set up fees charged with your Portfolio Plans. The package price is for "image ready digital files" Our definition of "image ready digital files" for Portfolio gallery purposes is as specified herein under Getting Images Ready and under the Artist Pictures. If you do NOT have digital files and need to send photos to be scanned, service fees are applicable. Read details about other service fees below.
After we receive your order form and payment:
In the second email ...We will email you with the following:
- Your assigned "Artist#" (artist number) You are to use this number AS THE FIRST FOUR DIGITS OF ALL your filenames and with any correspondence with us. It helps us identify your images as you send them so we can match them up with the correct account.
- a link to the online Art Information Form for the Plan that you order, where you will enter the titles, mediums, size, price & filenames of each of the images you are submitting for your portfolio. You will also choose their position/order of appearance on your My Portfolio Page. (This is the form you will initially use to submit you image INFORMATION, and later, for you will use it for your monthly free Service Session for exchanging out images.)
Follow the link that we send you and fill out the online form carefully, adding each artwork image information on the form and submit it.
Then, either mail in the images on a CD, or reply to our email and attach the images.
PLEASE send ONLY 6 images at a time with any one email. This is very important...
Please call us first (916)685-1312 -so we can "grab" them off the server as they arrive. (several Spam filters block multiple emails with many attachments and 12 to 24 images can block the email.- and especially if we have several coming in at the same time from different artists)

What we do next:
We format your images for the web, create your home page image with your artwork image and artist picture, format the text, design your web pages. We test the site, then and launch your new site. Web site can take up to 1-2 weeks to complete, but may be up sooner if all your information and files are in order and if you get the materials to us in a timely fashion. We will work closely with you throughout the entire process.
That's it!
We start the clock on your package time the day we launch your site so you have no loss for our production time.
Be sure to give out your new web address to all your friend, family, past clients, and market your business.
And remember- You can now go do what you love... your art!
If you want to change your pictures out you get one session per month FREE with your package. Just use the same online Artist Information Form. All other changes are by the current hourly rate. Please see our fees chart for details.
